Although life, family, and work has taken a toll on my time and attention of late, I continue to reflect on the good things that are happening with IHP. Doors continue to open, and when we think there is no way forward God reveals yet another path. In this season of Thanksgiving we have much for which to give thanks! Things continue to coalesce and I predict we will have an explosion of visible activity in the New Year. Thus far, much has happened behind the scenes but we are coming to the junction gateways opening that very soon will lead to a flowing river of things happening all at once. Nonetheless, we wait patiently for each blessing to be revealed. We also give thanks for all who have generously supported the organization in actions, giving, and prayers.

Hello everyone,
Thank you, God for this opportunity you gave us for doing your work and to serve your people here in Dodoma. Thank you for trusting us to do your work here in Chihoni, near Dodoma, in Tanzania, East Africa.
The year 2024 has been a challenging year: those included buying 12.5 acres of land for staff houses and the 27 acres for Chihoni Medical Center (CMC).
Our hard workers have made 35,170 cement blocks for building the Out-Patient Department, and for the hostel so our guests, students, and volunteers will have a place to stay. Our architects have prepared the drawings for all 35 building we are going have for the Chihoni Medical Center here in Dodoma District of Tanzania. We have one successful borehole for water and have built one building that includes the tool shed, the construction office, and guards’ home.
We are still working on the building permit for the Chihoni Medical Center and the hostel.. We are hoping by December 2024 that we will have the building permit and the title deed by January 2025.
Setting the new beacons/boundary markers for newly purchased land adding to the total acreage for the hospital campus.
I know and I understand we have been waiting and waiting for the building permit for several months. I am asking you to be more patient. Soon we are going to have it.
There is nothing we can do to rush this as it is in the hands of the Dodoma Municipal Council. We are hoping to start building by January 2025.
Next week or the week after we are planning to start setting out all of the buildings on the ground with stakes and wires so that we can start planting the trees right away because we are expecting the rains any time from December this year. This will give the plants and trees the best chance to take root and start growing to shade the buildings and parking areas and beautify the grounds of the campus.
Once again,
Thank you very much to every one of you for being there for IHP and for the people of Tanzania.
God Bless you.
Best Regards,
Selemani Shabani,
IHP-TZ VP, and
IHP-TZ main contractor.

Dear valued Donors,
We hope this update finds you well. We are thrilled to share with you some exciting news regarding the upcoming Mobile Clinic grant application.
We are in the early stages of preparing to establish a mobile clinic, which will significantly enhance our ability to provide essential healthcare services to underserved families who would not be able to attend the hospital due to old age or disability.
Here’s what we have accomplished so far; we have managed to come up with a list of the equipment and medications required for the mobile clinic and we are consulting with medical suppliers to get the prices for each item on the list.
Your support will be instrumental in bringing this project to life, and we cannot thank you enough for your commitment to improving healthcare services for those in need. We will continue to keep you updated on our progress and look forward to sharing the impact of the mobile clinic in the community we serve.
Thank you once again for your generosity and support.

Hello everyone!
My son, David West, and I have put 7,000 miles on the van since September telling the story of IHP’s newest venture, the beginning of Chihoni Medical Center. So far, we have had seven teams express determination to come out and help in 2026. EGADS! We are SO excited at this possibility. We better get that hostel done!
Coming to Tanzania is a life-changing event for most people. They find the joy of giving, of being part of something bigger than themselves, and they help to build something that will last and make a difference in peoples’ lives for years, decades, even more, to come

David and I are in Salt Lake City right now, we’ll have Thanksgiving here with Pr. James Wakefield and his wife Dawn McNulty who have come out to Tanzania five times. We will head back to Overland Park on Friday and will be there until January 10th, 2025 when we start the second half of our fundraising tour. Please see the travel schedule below.
We look forward to speaking at churches and Rotary and other service clubs. We also would like to speak at medical schools again as we have lost contact with many of those who send students out pre-Covid. Please check out the schedule and if we were within practical distance of you, we welcome mid-week presentations.
Blessings and gratitude,
Paula
